„Beim Bürgergeld ist etwas gelungen, beim Mindestlohn nicht“

Der Etat des Arbeitsministeriums wird nicht gekürzt – die Ausgaben steigen sogar noch. Grund dafür sind auch die angehobenen Regelsätze beim Bürgergeld. Doch der Mindestlohn steigt nicht ausreichend.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
