Somit lagen 14,8 % aller Beschäftigungsverhältnisse in Deutschland vor der Mindestlohnerhöhung im Oktober 2022 rechnerisch unterhalb des Stundenlohns von 12 Euro.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
