Kinder und Jugendliche: Armutsgefährdungs- und SGB-II-Quoten – Ländervergleich 2008 bis 2022

In 2022 galten 21,6 Prozent der Kinder und Jugendlichen in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland als arm bzw. armutsgefährdet, insgesamt etwa 2,994 Millionen Kinder und Jugendliche im Alter von unter 18 Jahren.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
