Streit um Bürgergeld: Es geht vor allem um Macht

Die Ampel braucht Stimmen von der Union im Bundesrat für ihre Sozialreform. Aus Hartz IV wird das neue Bürgergeld. Aber CDU/CSU sehen bislang nicht ein, warum sie der SPD helfen sollen, ihr Hartz-IV-Trauma zu überwinden.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
