Grundsicherung weiterdenken!

Am System der Grundsicherung wird seit langem viel Kritik geübt, speziell an „Hartz IV“. Auf einer Fachtagung im Juni 2022 haben Expert:innen über aktuelle Herausforderungen und Entwicklungsperspektiven diskutiert.

Das Schicksal teilt ungerecht aus; und es gleicht die Ungerechtigkeiten nicht immer aus. Hier hat der Sozialstaat seine Aufgabe. Er sorgt dafür, dass der Mensch reale, nicht nur formale Chancen hat. …

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
