Arbeitnehmerinnen und Arbeitnehmer müssen sich künftig öfter weiterbilden. Doch viele Fragen sind noch ungeklärt. Zum Beispiel, wer das bezahlen soll.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
