Der Senat hat die im vergangenen Jahr eingeführte und zunächst bis Ende 2021 befristete Aufstockung der Stellen um zwei weitere volle Jahre beschlossen.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
