Zwölf Euro Mindestlohn, ein Bürgergeld und Minijob-Reformen: Viele Pläne von SPD, FDP und Grüne klingen gut. Doch ein radikaler Systemwechsel ist es nicht.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
