Auf dem Arbeitsmarkt sind weiter tiefe Spuren der Corona-Pandemie vorhanden. Berlin ist immer noch das Bundesland mit dem stärksten pandemiebedingten Anstieg der Arbeitslosigkeit. Insbesondere die Langzeitarbeitslosigkeit ist deutlich gestiegen.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
