Viele Selbständige schmeißen hin

Vor allem viele Frauen haben in der Corona-Krise ihre Selbstständigkeit aufgegeben. DIW-Forscher Kritikos meint: Selbständige Frauen verzeichneten im Frühjahr 2020 häufiger starke Einkommensverluste als Männer.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
