Die durchschnittlichen Ausgaben für die Maßnahmekosten pro Monat und Teilnehmende(n) reichen 2020 in den Ländern von 957 Euro in Hamburg und 823 Euro im Land Bremen bis 260 Euro in Baden-Württemberg und 254 Euro in Sachsen-Anhalt.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
