Der Europäische Grüne Deal muss ein sozialer Deal sein, denn der Kampf gegen den Klimawandel setzt den Kampf gegen die Ungleichheit voraus.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
