For 15 years, Förderwerk Bremen GmbH has been offering vocational training in skilled trades for working-age adults through its „BremerLernweg“ program. Job seekers—with or without prior experience—receive support over a period of 12 to a maximum of 36 months, gaining qualifications step-by-step toward a recognized vocational certification. Even those who do not complete the entire program receive a recognized certificate for the specific training modules they have finished.

In addition to hands-on work at practical construction sites, participants acquire knowledge through specialized in-house instruction and moderated study groups. The project team also provides expert support for personal issues as well as remedial classes in mathematics and German—all designed to prepare participants for the labor market.

Candidates can test out potential career paths beforehand through an internship. A new program cycle begins every September. Women, in particular, are encouraged to apply.
